NEW CLASSES!!!
Pre-Agility
Ultimutt Dog Sports LLC and Sunpaws LLC are thrilled to offer pre-Agility 1 & 2.
The pre-agility classes will teach you and your dog foundational skills necessary for success in agility classes and competition.

Agility requires that the dog and handler develop a communication system so that the handler can direct the dog where to go on course. Many handlers new to agility do not realize how much what they do and say can impact the dog's response.

Many behaviors are natural to the dog in response to the handler, but others require many repetitions to establish a correct response. For example, does your dog know what left and right mean? Does your dog naturally let you walk behind her while remaining facing forward? Will your dog take 3 to 5 obstacles moving away from you or even just run away from you 20 feet on cue?

Handlers may also struggle to understand the foot work, hand motions, body posture, location relative to an obstacle, etc to get a correct response from the dog.
Simply put, there is a lot to agility other than running and pointing. We want the dogs and handlers to develop a strong foundation from the beginning rather than solving problems later on.

The most important thing you will learn is how to TRAIN your dog, not just for agility. You will learn how to move your entire body to communicate with your dog. You and your dog will also learn how to safely complete several agility obstacles.

The course fee is $160.00 for 4 lessons that will be 1 to 1.25 hours in length. Class size is limited to 6 teams. Classes will be held at Sunpaws, LLC. Two sessions will be offered:
10-11 AM or 11:30- 12:00 Saturday August 17, August 24, August 31, and September 7

Note: Agility can be thought of as a series of tricks strung together. You will learn many tricks that will qualify for tricks titles under Do More With Your Dog and AKC. This course includes the evaluation fee for the novice level titles for these organizations for the dog registered in the class. Other levels are available for $10.

We hope to offer a CGC class in the near future.
