This month we are playing on an historical course for the 60x90 league. For nesting purposes, the 50x70 and 40x85 leagues will be playing a similar game. The courses run at the same time as the historical 60x90 course were not nested and were not games courses.
There are a few interesting things to note about running historical courses. First, most players will get a boost on LPP than they would normally because an historical course has been run by many dogs. The current run is compared to all dogs who have ever run the course, so LPP calculations include those dogs. Second, if your dog has previously run the course, you can compare the runs. Third, historical dogs may gain LPP because their runs are compared to the new runs. If they ran better than the new runs, they will receive the boost in LPP.
The game we are playing is Power and Speed with a Time Warp bonus. The 50x70 and 40x85 do not have the Power and Speed component.
Briefing:
The first section of the course is Power and Speed consisting of the four red numbered obstacles. This untimed section is intended to demonstrate the contact performance of the dog. Refusals are not faulted. Any other fault results in a 5-second penalty. These include missed contact, wrong course, and tire opening (if breakaway). A failure to perform results in a 20-second penalty.
The second section consists of a jumpers sequence. Timing starts with the first jump noted by the Start/Finish line. Normal faults apply during the speed section.
This game includes a Time warp bonus. The dog will earn 10 bonus points if the handler remains on the opposite side of the red handler containment line while the dog performs jumps #7 thru #9 without fault. A fault negates the bonus, but the run may continue.
Scored: Time, plus Faults, minus Bonus.
The 50x70 and 40x85 courses are run like a jumpers course except for the red containment line. The 50x70 distance bonus is #11 thru #14. The 40x85 distance bonus is #7 thru #11.
